Overcoming Imposter Syndrome (Without Waiting Until You Feel “Ready”)

Let’s be honest: imposter syndrome is that sneaky little voice that shows up right when you’re about to do something brave and whispers, “They’re going to figure you out any second now.”

It is the feeling of extreme self-doubt where you’re convinced you’re one wrong move away from being exposed as fraudulent or incompetent. And here’s the part nobody posts about in their polished Reels: it is ridiculously common. You are surrounded by people who feel the exact same way and just never talk about it. Especially in the equine bodywork world, where everyone looks like they have it together while secretly wondering if they are doing enough.

You know the hits. Comparing your session footage to someone else’s perfectly lit, slow-motion miracle transformation. The vet, farrier, or trainer who tilts their head and asks, “So… what exactly do you do?” The client who casually mentions their previous bodyworker. Charging actual money. Not seeing immediate results and immediately assuming you’ve failed the entire species.

Those moments are not proof you’re an imposter. They’re just the job.

In my free Masterclass, Overcoming Imposter Syndrome, we get into the different flavors this can take (there are five classic types and most of us are a chaotic blend of at least two), the specific triggers that hit equine bodyworkers the hardest, and how to start flipping the script on those thoughts before they talk you out of showing up.

We practice little rewrites like turning “I’m new” into “My education is fresh and I’m hungry,” and “I only have 3 clients” into “I have horses who vote with soft eyes and big yawns.” We talk about curiosity instead of comparison, competitive edge instead of competitive mindset, and why there’s actually room for all of us in a world with millions of horses.

And yes, we talk about community… because doing this work in isolation is a great way to let the imposter voice get way too loud.

If that “I don’t know enough yet” voice has been especially chatty lately, this is for you.

Come join me for the free Masterclass and let’s quiet that voice (or at least make it less dramatic).
